At Mount Elgon Trust, we believe that true growth starts with people. For nearly two decades, we’ve worked hand in hand with our neighbours — supporting education, health, clean water and sustainable livelihoods across the communities surrounding our farm.

Our successes
Habitat Estate and Market
We’ve provided better housing for over 100 families in our Habitat Estate. Our communal market place services over 5,000 residents surrounding the farm;
Andersen Medical Centre
AMC treats over 23,000 outpatients on average annually. Additionally, we admit over 2,000 patients a year, for special medical treatments, ranging from accidents to malaria and other infections, and for child-births;
Community Outreach Programs
Thanks to our community outreach programs, we’re assisting around 45 villages and settlements in terms of social empowerment and capacity building;
Education
Our four schools educate more than 3,000 students, in both primary and high school. We also offer vocational, practical education;
Orphanage
Since its opening in 2007, our orphanage has been home to over 70 children, most of which have already, and successfully, spread their wings into society.
